Second time " Rococo " Cartell clock from Sweden around 1940 from aristocratic ownership.
For sale is an exquisite Rococo Cartell clock from around 1940 from Sweden, which captivates with its artistically designed lime wood case. This was gilded in an elaborate process, and
the gilding is in very good condition (see pictures).
Details:
- Size: height 52 cm, max. width 29 cm
- Mechanics: Eight-day movement that is wound with a key (key not available, but easily available from any watchmaker)
- Striking mechanism: Strikes the number of hours on a small bell and once every half hour
- Dial: Metal, ivory lacquered, with Arabic numerals for the minutes and Roman numerals for the hours.
- Special features: The disc in front of the dial is cambered, and the massive brass pendulum is visible in the richly decorated pendulum chamber.
The clock runs and strikes perfectly. The movement was cleaned three years ago and the bearings oiled.
This beautiful clock is not only a functional timepiece, but also an impressive piece of art that will add a touch of elegance to any room.
