Dieter Schüno was a German artist who was born in Mainz and lived and worked both in Mainz and on the island of Mallorca until his death in 2022. He studied painting, graphics and interior design at the Mainz Art Academy. At the beginning of the 2000s, he moved partly to Mallorca, where he continued to work.
Schüno's artistic work is strongly inspired by nature and the laws of colour. He used materials such as acrylic paints and natural elements to create unique, relief-like surfaces on wood and canvas. His works are abstract, but convey the impression of light and nature, often through transparent layers of paint and the use of putty.
His artworks have been shown in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad and are known for the fusion of form, structure and colour, often reflecting the interplay of light, sky and horizon
