JOHANNES Adamski (1964-2005) was a German pop artist who became passionate about art early in life. He learned his craft both from his mother, the artist Dagmar Adamski, and at the private art school Schloss Rittershein-Comberg under the guidance of Heinz Lemke Rossau. He lived and worked in various places, including Wiesbaden, Munich, Berlin, Sylt and Mallorca. In Mallorca, he was considered the enfant terrible of the art scene and enjoyed great popularity. He loved to be in the spotlight and stage himself. He appeared at his openings in a brightly colored Rolls Royce painted with flowers. Among his collectors were prominent personalities such as Michael Douglas, Peter Maffay and Claudia Schiffer.
His large-scale works were characterized by bright colors and powerful depictions of flowers, fruits, and still lifes. Dr. Ralf Schiebler described JOHANNES in a catalogue foreword with the following words: "The sweetness of oranges and the juiciness of lemons appeal to the senses. The deep red black of the poppy is intoxicating, and the innocence of the lilies confuses the eye. The sunflowers store a cosmic dynamic and energy. Its fruits give the painting a vitamin boost, so that you want to taste it yourself. John proceeds boldly, draws from the full. Together with Goethe, he sees modesty as a characteristic of rags."
