On 31.03.2023, on the one hand, the W60 lime converter was installed in Santanyi, and on the other hand, one of two hot water boilers in the house was opened for cleaning after 2 years of use. (Pictures 1-7)
With the removed heating element, the grayish area is clearly visible after 2 years. This is the dissolved part of the sacrificial anode. The cleaning of the entire heating element was only possible with hydrochloric acid. This was applied in several steps with a brush.
After about 6 months of continuous operation, there were hardly any limescale deposits on the removed heating element. These non-adhering deposits came off after light pressure with the fingernail. The minimal residual adhesions were then removed with an environmentally friendly vinegar solution.
Limescale residues on the inner wall of the container lay as thin plates on the inner wall and could be easily peeled off because they did not stick.
The other heating element of the household was removed for maintenance on 22.09.2022 after 1.5 years of use. The hard limescale encrustations are clearly visible, which could only be dissolved and cleaned with salfumante (diluted hydrochloric acid). (8th picture)
After almost exactly one year (27.09.20223), the heating element was removed again. It is important to note that after about half a year of operation with "normal water", the W60 lime converter from Weha-Wassertechnik was installed in the water supply of the house.
On the one hand, the W60 prevents limescale build-up and, on the other hand, it dissolves existing limescale deposits.
(Fig. 9) The amount of lime on the removed heating element is more loosely layered and does not adhere. The loose amount of limescale was removed with a water hose.
(Fig. 10) Only a hint of limescale can be seen on some parts of the heating rod, which can be snapped away with a fingernail.
Aerators
The W 60 limescale converter from Weha-Wassertechnik not only prevents limescale adhesion, but also removes existing deposits in the water pipes. This can be clearly seen in the aerators. After 6 months, the smallest particles can be seen that have come loose from the tube and are now loose or stuck on the aerator grid. These can be easily removed as they do not make a firm connection to the aerator.
When the water comes out, it is clear that the openings are not closed by limescale. The chrome damage on the outer ring dates back to the time before the W 60 was used.
It doesn't have to be your own property, the washing machine, dishwasher and other appliances that come into contact with tap water remain your own appliances. But showering is also more fun when water is constantly coming out of the shower head.
